I’ve taken a lot of pictures this year but simply haven’t taken the time to add them here too. I found a sliver of time and here is a medley of pics from the past few months. I will do better at keeping my blog updated now that I’m feeling re-inspired again. Recently I haven’t felt as inspired as I had in the past 365 days. I’m not sure if it’s my job getting the best of me or if I’m simply feeling frustrated about feeling tied down to work and maybe even a wee bit lonely. I’ve done a lot over the past few months. I’m still biking and spending lots of time with my doggies. I day-dream a lot about spending my days traveling and taking pictures. Maybe one day I can figure out a way to make that a full-time reality. Taking pictures, riding my bike and spending time with the dogs have been the things that make me passionate and excited about life. My job…not so much. Thanks for taking the time to listen and enjoy these photos.
I started building this blog a year ago. My goal was to kick it off on my trip to Iceland in early January of 2014, which I did. My next goal was to spend the year building content for this site of all my favorite pictures that I captured along the walk in 2014. This will be my last post of 2014. I’m looking forward to the next phase of this project in 2015. Enjoy and thanks to all who have taken the time to look at my pictures. I truly enjoy capturing these moments in life 🙂 Wishing you tranquility upon the terrestrial sphere and a Happy New Year!
Yesterday I had the opportunity to go on a small plane ride over the San Juan Islands. This was a first time experience for me. A co-worker built an RV-7 from scratch. It took him about 4 years to finish. He has had the plane in the air since last March. He offered to take me to lunch from Seattle to San Juan’s for my Birthday and of course I could not turn it down 🙂 Normally a trip to the San Juan’s in a vehicle will require at minimum 5 hours of travel time. This includes waiting for ferries to take you across to the islands one at a time. These are a few pictures from my adventure yesterday. Chad was a great host and taught me a lot about general aviation that I never knew before. I hope you enjoy these pictures.
This is the RV-7 that Chad built. The full story and history of this plane can be found here >> http://www.704ch.com
I haven’t had much time for Flowers4Em in April. I’ve been working on a 30 day yoga challenge as my main priority. I go to a 90 minute Bikram style yoga class every day and have since April 1st. I won’t lie, it is a very difficult work-out which gets your heart pounding and the body sweating A LOT! I don’t think I’ve sweat this much in my life. At least on a daily basis like this. Let’s just say the endocrine system is getting a full work out too! I definitely feel the rewards after every class and am in the final days of the challenge. I have seven days remaining. When I complete the last day of the challenge on April 30th I will have logged 45 hours of hot yoga in the month of April 🙂 Yup that’s a lot of breathing exercises. I am still unable to touch my forehead to my shins but I’m working on it.
This was a nice poem that the yoga instructor recited to us yesterday evening in class. I’d like to also share it with you.
I am grateful for my limits
that teach me patience and pace
I am grateful for challenge, defeat, and loss
They teach me hope is not a light at the end of the dark tunnel
It’s the ember burning within me that I forgot to fan
I am grateful to my teachers
for introducing me to myself
I am grateful for my past
that has delivered me to my present
I am grateful for all I have found and all I have lost
Both remind me I can live with and without
I am grateful for silence and for laughter
And for my ears that can hear both
I am grateful to my heart
that beats and breaks and heals
I am grateful for the fullness of my life
For the brief, heartbreaking, heartwarming fullness of life.

Aside from the yoga challenge and all the Seattle rain I have been taking a few pictures here and there. Here are a few from the past few weeks. Enjoy!
